Celebrating Scottish artists across Edinburgh and Glasgow

As the city moves into a new season, so does the atmosphere within our walls. Our latest Artist in Residence, ‘Spring Renewal’, invites guests to step into a moment of transition. Featuring work by Scotland-based artists Lorna Sinclair, Sam Renson and Sin Park, the exhibition explores renewal through the ways we observe, connect and respond to the world around us.

Spanning still life, abstracted landscape and expressive glimpses of the everyday, each artist offers a personal interpretation of this time of year. Lorna’s layered compositions draw from interiors and familiar objects, capturing the richness of domestic space and blurring the line between memory and presence.

Sam’s work begins with walking, where her ‘inscape’ paintings distil the experience of being within a landscape, translating colour, texture and atmosphere into abstract forms rooted in place.

Sin’s gestural canvases open space for reflection, where painting is a capsule of time and space with a narrative intimate to the artist with meaning suggested through titles (The Neighbour’s Window and Beneath the Open Sky).

Together, our Artists in Residence present a shared sensitivity to seasonal change, translating it into form, colour and movement. Artworks are available for purchase; please contact reception for more details.
